Hello and welcome to Momentum! A non-physics formula (and simpler definition) of this word is the power residing in a moving object. The greater the momentum the more potential for ACTION and CHANGE! We believe this perfectly describes our vision for youth ministry here at ACTIVE church. Jesus came that we should have life and more than that a victorious, full, and purposed life! We believe by connecting young people to the power source (through a real, personal, daily relationship with God) that they can then be put into action—changing their lives and the lives of those around them. As MOMENTUM builds, what God has put into motion becomes UNSTOPPABLE (and all because of the power behind the motion)!
Our goal is to provide a place where youth can come and be real with themselves, with their friends, and most importantly, with God. When people are real with God, miraculous things happen, and lives change. It is during these years that we establish much of our identity, habits, attitudes, and decisions that affect how we live the rest of our lives. As such, it is a critical time to SHOW and teach youth how to follow Christ on a daily basis by discipling them to study God’s Word, pray for themselves and others, live holy lives that glorify Christ, and to take on a servant’s heart that can influence and minister to those hurting around them. We believe that God will use MOMENTUM to do just that by helping young people find their identity in Christ and the unique purpose God has for each of them.
Our group is for everyone in middle school or high school. We get together every Wednesday night to hang out and have lots of fun! Doors open at 6:30 and service starts at 7. Our café is open for drinks and snacks before service. We usually catch up with one another before or after service over a game of pool, X box, or Play Station, or just hanging out on the couches! We also have a bible study in the youth room at 9:30 on Sunday morning. We are beginning to come up with more and more ways to be with each other outside of church, and we hope you will come and join us! We’d love for you to come be a part of our group!
